Lemons have a large number of properties that make them great to use for your everyday beauty routine. There are a number of qualities in lemons that can better your appearance without any harsh chemicals. Here are six ways that you can incorporate them into your beauty routine.

 

 

 

Sugaring

Lemon can be used in natural homemade wax. By combining sugar, water, and lemon in a heated pan, you’ll create a wax that will make it easy to remove body hair. Let it cool for 15 minutes. When done cooling, roll it into a ball and place it on the desired area. Pull in the opposite direction that hair grows, and repeat until all hair is removed.

Hair Rinse

Lemons can reduce the dullness of your hair and give it a shine. When using lemon juice in the shower, you can skip shampooing your hair. While in the shower (make sure it’s warm water) just pour about 2 tablespoons of lemon juice onto the palm of your hand and rub into your hair slowly. Wait about a minute before rinsing out of your hair.

Natural Highlights

Lemon juice is a more organic way to get natural highlights. In addition, it’s significantly cheaper than going to a salon. This method of natural highlights won’t work for everyone, though. It’s best for people who have lighter hair.

Lemon Body Scrub

Lemon is so good to use on your face, and it’s just as good to use on the rest of your body. You shouldn’t use salt scrubs every day as they are very rough, but using them once a week would be ideal. This lemon scrub is proven to help fight depression as the wonderful smell of lemons calms your body.

When making this scrub, you will need the zest from a lemon, kosher salt, and almond oil. Combine the three ingredients into a tightly closed jar, and shake. For best results, scoop the scrub out of the jar with a spoon instead of your fingers so any oils on your fingertips won’t mix in with your scrub.

Lemon Cucumber Toner

Using lemon as a toner is a great way to get happy and acne-free skin. All you have to do to get this natural toner is combine lemon juice, cucumber slices, and cold water into a jar. Adding lemon slices into the toner is suggested too. Apply to your face with a cotton ball. To store, place it in your refrigerator.

Organic Face Scrub

Lemon Juice has antibacterial properties, which is why it is said to have an acne-fighting ability. This face scrub works very well on oily skin and it is not as harsh as those other acne medications. You will need freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, rolled oats, and water. Combine in a bowl. Massage onto your face for about 30 seconds. Then rinse with warm water.
